FHIAP Alert October 12, 2012
Due to a budget shortfall, FHIAP is moving a portion of its adult population to the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) Standard program. Only adults, ages 19 and up, with incomes up to 100% of the federal poverty level, and enrolled in the individual market are being moved.
Adults enrolled in the Oregon Medical Insurance Pool and Federal Medical Insurance Pool (OMIP/FMIP), the group market, and those with higher incomes are not impacted by this move; and no children are being moved at this time.
The impacted population was sent notification from FHIAP on October 2. Their last day to remain enrolled in FHIAP is November 30, 2012, provided they have retained FHIAP eligibility by continuing to pay their premiums and returned the green election form they were sent with the notice.
FHIAP Members have three options:
- · Choose to be transferred to OHP;
- · Not transfer to OHP and self-pay their entire insurance premium; or
- · Be uninsured.
