PERSONAL FINANCE Government will fully cover laid-off workers’ COBRA premiums through September
As part of the Covid relief bill, the government will subsidize COBRA premiums for former workers of a company until the fall.
Most people usually find it too expensive to pay to stay on their former workplace’s insurance plan. With the subsidy, “you may see dramatically more people sign up,” said Caitlin Donovan, a spokeswoman for the National Patient Advocate Foundation.
