Group Dental Plans

• Most group plans are PPOs with in-network providers, but they also include out-of-network coverage.

• Out-of-network providers typically receive about 90% of their usual fees, though balance billing may apply.

• Some plans have waiting periods for basic or major services; however, certain carriers waive these periods or provide credit if members had prior dental coverage.

• Annual benefit maximums generally range from $1,000 up to $2,500.

• Orthodontic coverage may be available for children or adults.

• Pediatric preventive dental is required in many plans and can also be purchased as a stand-alone benefit.
