Providence joins with Cigna to provide greater access to providers nationwide

Providence Health Plan is pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Cigna Payer Solutions to provide nationwide access to the Cigna PPO Network¹ for Providence employers with members who reside or travel outside Providence’s core service area. The new relationship will be effective mid-2021 for small and large group fully-insured and self-insured employers.

Providence has long been a leading health insurer for employers in Oregon and Washington. Employer groups that have a more geographically diverse workforce will enjoy the quality and discounts of Cigna’s national PPO Network, backed by Providence’s world-class integrated care management. Producers, who know Providence as a top choice for local employers, will now count Providence as a top choice for groups with employees across the country. With this change, Providence members who live and travel outside Providence’s core service area will gain access to care through Cigna’s PPO Network that includes the following enhancements:

• Broad Access. A comprehensive, multidisciplinary national network with 1,878,864 providers and 10,036 hospitals nationwide² 
• Competitive Discounts. Members will enjoy increased discounts from a national network.
